In about 30 minutes it will officially be Asher's 2nd birthday. I can't believe he is 2 already. Time is flying by and its a little depressing. Right now Asher is so fun. He is learning tons of new things, he repeats just about everything you say (which is good and bad depending who he is around). I know that in 3 years I'll be thinking back to this time in his life and miss it so much. Well before I start crying I better say that I am so happy that this little boy has blessed my life. I can't even imagine what it would be like without him in it.

Some Spring Fun
Not too long ago we went to CalRanch, which, for those of you who don't know, is a store that is a lot like, well I can't really think of a store its like. It has almost everything. Its a feed store, you can buy things for any kind of animal you have from hamsters to horses. They also have gardening stuff, furniture, clothing, shoes, etc. Anyway, we went there recently to get some stuff for our dog. In the back of the store they had these huge horse troughs filled with baby chicks, turkeys and ducks. Asher was in love as soon as he saw them. He was so cute. We actually talked about buying some and putting them in our backyard, but since we don't have it fenced yet we decided against it. Probably smart on our part. So then, last week we were having the tires rotated on James' big truck and the place (Big O) was across the street from CalRanch so we decided to walk over and let Asher visit his bird friends again. This time I got it on video. Here are two different videos of him lovin the "birdies".

Easter 2010
It was really exciting that Bailey was here visiting us for the week of Easter and since Jade's 1st Birthday was a couple of days before he was here for that too. We had a lot of fun. Bailey and Asher dyed Easter eggs one, we had a birthday party for Jade, we even made a quick trip to Kingman, AZ Easter morning to visit with my mom, Rocky, my sister, Tate and Cailin. Here are some fun pictures of Easter time.

Spring Adventures
In Utah, the weather, throughout March and April, has a tendency to go from Spring to Winter and then back to Spring in the same week. Here in Cedar City its been especially crazy, one day we'll have snow and then two days later we'll have a high of 60 and sun! Anyway, about a week ago we were able to get outside and go to the park. Asher loves the park, you can't even say the word around him unless you plan on going that minute. The slide is his favorite. So on this particular day we decided to go around lunch time, stop and grab something for lunch and head to the park. We got in the car and about halfway to the park Asher fell asleep in his car seat so James and I grabbed lunch and headed back home so Asher could get a full nap. The good thing about that was when Asher finally woke up Jadeth and Jade we able to go to the park with us. It was Jade's first trip to the park and I think she had a really fun time. Here are some fun pictures from that day.

A new hobby
Well, on Friday, April 2nd Jade will be 1. I can't believe she is going to be 1 already. Anyway, I have two boys, so I've never been able to make a girly birthday cake. So, I begged Jadeth to let me make her birthday cake, I didn't have to beg long, it was more like "can I make it?" and Jadeth said "umm, yeah".

Spring Break
Spring Break has begun! And it couldn't have come at a better time. I was getting a little overwhelmed that last week. But other than being stressed at times, school is going very well. I'm really loving it but I do wish I could finish a little quicker and actually get started doing the teaching rather than the learning.

Olympics, potty and new residents...
Tonight was the first night, other than Opening Ceremonies, that I sat down to watch the Olympics. I was so impressed with my countries' athletes. We did amazing tonight....Gold and Bronze in Men's Halfpipe, Gold and Silver in Women's Downhill...so others that I'm not quite sure what the sport was called. Way to go USA!!!!

Asher's Favorite Thing
A while ago, James downloaded a kids app to his iPhone and it had a few really cute short little cartons that played. One of them Asher feel in love with. He would walk up to me or James and say "Quack, Quack?" which we both understood meant he wanted to watch this one video. I don't know if anyone else has seen it but it's called The Duck Song and here is the link. Well, after watching this video a few hundred times a day I decided to start searching youtube for some other short videos he would like. The big thing for him is that they sing, he LOVES music, so I did a search for Sesame Street, knowing they like to sing on that show. Now I've created a monster! An Elmo-loving-monster. He loves Elmo, as soon as he wakes up in the morning he says "elmo?" The other day I bought him a video from Walmart, The Best of Elmo. It has about 6 or 7 songs on it and he watches it every hour! And its a 30 minute video!!!!! I don't know if this obsession will continue until his second birthday, but if it does everyone can buy him anything Elmo related and he will be thrilled! Its so cute (except around 5pm when I've watched that video about 30 times!!!)

Biggest Loser Recipe update...
I might have to put a hold on our Biggest Loser cooking experiment, at least for 24 days (Feb 3- 27) James and I are doing a month long get fit challenge that our gym is doing. I'll keep you posted, but as a fair warning, you'll probably be reading a lot of posts about how sore I am because I can already tell its going to be some grueling workouts! But we are both excited, we start Tuesday!

Day 3 Biggest Loser Recipes
Wow today I was a superstar in the cooking department. I made 6 recipes today! I have to say that I am really surprised at how good most of these recipes taste. I was expecting them to be flavorless and not so great but most of them are really good! (so far, lets not jinx ourselves!)

Thanksgiving...
Yes you read that right...Thanksgiving...its time to catch up on some of the events I've missed. Thanksgiving 2009 was a blast for me! I had everyone I love here, well everyone but Bailey, who was missed A LOT!!!! From the beginning my mom and stepdad Rocky were always planning on coming up, they usually do for Thanksgiving. Then when we found out my dad was going to be starting radiation treatments him and my stepmom Kimmie decided to make the trip up too, bringing with them my stepbrother Jon and his wonderful girlfriend Carolyn. Then my sister and brother-in-law Tate decided to come too, bringing of course, my beautiful niece Cailin. We had a house full but it was so awesome. Then the Friday after Thanksgiving we had all those plus all of James' kids (except Sabelle, who we also missed a ton!) and our good friends Tami and Andy and Mark and Patti over and we played bunco. It was a loud, rowdy good time. Here are some fun pictures from Thanksgiving day and Bunco night. I hope everyone plans on doing it again next year because that was just too much fun not to do again.

A new experiment
A while ago James and I bought a cookbook from the Biggest Loser (you know, the reality show). I had made a few things from it but the other night I pulled it out to make one of the recipes I had already made and was flipping through the book. I said to James, I'm going to cook all these recipes and try them out. And I thought he'd say 'UGH, really?" but he said "go for it!" So I'll post a little something about the recipes I cook so that if someone wants to buy the cookbook they'll know if the recipes are any good. I'll even rank each recipe for everyone, on a scale from 1-10, 10 being the best.

Made it through
As exhausted as I am right now its hard to believe I've made it through this past crazy holiday season. I'm so far behind on my blogging and I think to the near future and wonder when I will have time to sit down and really catch up. For now I'm going to make a list of the topics I have yet to blog about so that I can come back and catch up, even if it is little by little.
